Summer brings out the best of shades! We mean sunglasses, and here is a round up of how the fashion-savvy accessorized their faces this spring in the fashion capitals. Whether butterfly shapes, oversized, retro or round, there were a lot of new looks in eyewear. Here is a sampling.

Simple tinted round lenses got framed with peaked corners creating an all black or colourful two-tone look for the face.

The popularity of round lenses wrapped in a metal wire frame continues unabatedly. However, we spotted a creative new take: a double wire across the top of each lens creating a modern, sculptural look.

Mixed media frames incorporating metal looked very fresh in an oversized aviator with an exaggerated cross bar. A resin cats’ eye silhouette looked very modern with a zigzag metal temple piece.

Cats’ eyes are meowing louder than ever in oversized resin versions.

Super-sized frames don’t obscure the face because the frame and lens are gradated from transparent to light to dark.
